Incoming first-year students should apply for admission to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and choose biology as the intended major.

During your first year on campus, you will take introductory courses in Integrative Biology and in Molecular & Cellular Biology. Before beginning your second year, after consulting with an academic advisor, you will decide to major in integrative biology, molecular & cellular biology, or the biology teacher education program in IB or MCB.

Financial aid

Incoming students in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences are automatically considered for scholarships administered by the college. To be considered for any need-based scholarships, a FAFSA must be completed.

Outstanding biology students are invited to apply via email for a BEST scholarship in late February/early March.
